ATTACKS ONTHE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES MUST STOP 

If you attack a presidential candidate and he becomes president, you risk being put in the dog house for the next four years. Attacking a political candidate is a foolish and barbaric thing to do. The only sane, civilised, lawful and effective way of dealing with a political candidate you do not like is to boycott his campaign rallies and cast your ballot against him. Those artificially-engineered attacks on President Jonathan must stop. On the other hand, the threat by Mujahid Asari Dokubo to “retaliate” when next Buhari visits in the South-South must be totally discountenanced. It is not in the character or culture of the people of the South to attack or kill their visitors.

We are not at war. We are looking for the next person to lead us for four years. Let us abide by the Peace Accord, vote for a party and candidate of our choice and accept the final verdict of the Nigerian people.---Vanguard

Yeste.rday, Anambra state governor, Willie Obiano allegedly sacked his aide, Martins Uzodike, for allegedly supporting the re-election bid of President Goodluck JonathanAccording to Daily Independent, Martin’s offence was singing a pro Jonathan 2015 jingle which are currently running on televisions and radio stations.Uzodike who is also a member of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan’s Campaign Committee had joined Obiano’s circle on the understanding that APGA is working for Jonathan.He had been responsible of briefing the governor on the outcome of their numerous meetings and was also the Director General of the Obiano Campaign Organisation.His tape at Blaze FM was also replayed at the Exco meeting where he was heard correcting the jingle publicly, saying the content of the jingle should not be that the electorate should vote Jonathan but vote umbrella at the presidential poll, and vote rooster at other elections.The advert was telling potential voters to vote Jonathan but on the ballot paper were only party symbols, whereas Jonathan’s picture.Joe- Martins Presentation was higly infuriating for Obiano who immediately directed the Secretary to the State Government, Oseloka Obaze, to immediately go to his office and write a sack letter to effect Uzodike’s removal.Obiano later revealed an increment to the basic salary of Anambra State workers.The workers received a boost of 15 percent to their basic salary as motivation and fulfilment of his promise to increase their salary once revenue improves.(Afikpo Chic Report)

Jonathan Has No Record Of Good Governance - Soludo [Central Bank of Nigeria CBN.]

A former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Prof Charles Soludo, has advised the presidential flag bearer of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), President Goodluck Jonathan, to stop campaigning about the record of the outgoing government, saying it has no testimonial to parade. Soludo, a former governorship candidate of the party in Anambra State, gave this position in a document entitled ‘Buhari vs Jonathan: Beyond election’, and made available to LEADERSHIP newspaper. The document, which emphasized the technocrat-cum-politician’s passion for the country and concern about the forthcoming general election, stressed the need for the country to improve on its economy especially considering the dwindling price of crude oil in the international market, among other economic challenges. He said, “My advice to President Jonathan and his handlers is to stop wasting their time trying to campaign on his job record. Those who have decided to vote for him will not do so because he has taken Nigeria to the moon. His record on the economy is a clear ‘F’ grade. “As one reviews the laundry list of micro interventions the government calls its achievements, one wonders whether such list is all that the government could deliver with an unprecedented oil boom and an unprecedented public debt accumulation. I can clearly see why reasonable people are worried. “Everywhere else in the world, government performance on the economy is measured by some outcome variables such as: income (GDP growth rate), stability of prices (inflation and exchange rate), unemployment rate, poverty rate, etc. “On all these scores, this government has performed worse than its immediate predecessor– Obasanjo regime. If we appropriately adjust for oil income and debt, then this government is the worst in our history on the economy. All statistics are from the National Bureau of Statistics”.

Accident along Lagos Benin Onitsha High way......

Goods and lives were lost on Thursday 15th Jan,2015 when three trailers collided at Benin Onitsha express way. The accident was said to have been caused by a tanker. The tanker was on speed and it ran in to a trailer parked by the road side and huge inferno engulfed the tanker, the trailer and the third trailer involved in the accident. As a result of this there was traffic gridlock along that axis.
